Environmental Services Supervisor - WOW v2

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations
1. Job responsibilities include those listed in competency document.
2. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and 
co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
3. Assists with operational planning and direction of the Environmental Services Department. 
4. Assists in interviewing/screening of department applicants. 
5. Provides initial training for newly assigned employees and on-going training and continuous coaching for all 
staff. 
6. Additional responsibilities include developing work schedules; evaluating subordinates; maintaining 
equipment; monitoring and ordering supplies; keeps records, maintains logs and charts, completes essential 
documentation as required, and submits reports in order to meet deadlines. 
7. Ensures availability of resources enabling work teams to function effectively. 
8. On occasion, the necessity to perform the essential functions of a subordinate worker, in order to provide a 
clean and aseptic environment for the safety and health of our patients, visitors, physicians and employees, by 
performing various housekeeping and other duties. 
9. When working with a team, the Supervisor will provide instruction and coaching to team members while 
performing team associated tasks such as, but are not limited to: waste removal; dusting, cleaning and 
sanitizing of fixtures and surfaces; dust and damp mopping; biohazard spill cleanup; soiled linen removal; 
cleaning, sanitizing and making of beds; vacuuming, floor and carpet care, special projects, and changing of 
drapes and cubicle curtains. 
10. Must become proficient in the proper use of floor and carpet care battery operated and cord electric 
equipment. 
11. Must become proficient in established restorative, interim and routine floor and carpet care procedures. 
12. Must be capable to remove bulk biohazard and solid waste. 
13. Performs special projects as assigned. 
14. Uses computer for computer based training, data collection, e-mail and other pertinent computer programs.
15. Must adhere to Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures. 
16. Must follow applicable regulatory agency laws.
17. Performs all other duties as assigned 


Job Requirements
Qualifications/Training:
Previous experience as a hospital and/or commercial housekeeping supervisory or floor technician may be required. CHESP certification desired. Good communication skills and professional telephone etiquette are essential. Must be able to read write, and follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to communicate by phone. 
 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education 
Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) from an accredited school
