Overview TRC is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist / Industrial Hygiene Technician to join our Safety and Industrial Hygiene practice in Greenville, SC to conduct industrial hygiene assessments, hazardous building materials surveys and abatement oversight, and other industrial hygiene projects. Responsibilities Perform project oversight and coordination with contractors. Operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators, and microscopes. Collect samples as required by various regulatory agencies, complete data sheets, chain of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory. Maintain daily logs of activities related to project work. Interact and communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agency representatives. Read project specifications and drawings. Prepare reports. Travel throughout the Southeast and other regions as needed. Possess strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Qualifications Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field. Must be a good communicator and a team player. Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of their surroundings and reason the services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers / clients and offer solutions when needed. Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios. Ability to carry and climb ladders and ability to use hand and power tools. Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical and motor vehicle records check. Preferred Qualifications: 1-4 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene industry Prior experience in various aspects of asbestos or lead abatement projects. Prior experience performing industrial hygiene exposure sampling, including personal sampling, area sampling, and noise dosimetry. Prior experience in performing construction site and facility safety inspections. Must be able to read and understand project specifications and drawings. The candidate must hold or have the qualifications to obtain the following certifications: SCDES/NCDHHS/EPA Accredited Asbestos Building Inspector/Air Monitor OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Training OSHA HAZWOPER 40-Hour Training Benefits*: TRC offers a competitive benefit package consisting of: Medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance. 401k package that includes both traditional and Roth IRA options and Company match. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
