Job Description
We are seeking a full-time environmental field technician in Jacksonville,FL. As an environmental technician, you will collaborate with scientists and engineers on various projects, including land redevelopment, electric utility, remediation, chemical/petroleum spill, and municipal solid waste landfill projects. You must follow regulatory requirements, standard operating procedures, and company protocols, exercise independent judgment, and complete tasks with minimal direction from management.
ResponsibilitiesOperate and maintain groundwater remediation systems.Oversee well installation.Conduct groundwater, surface water, and soil sampling (Stock Pile and Soil Blending).Perform air/vapor monitoring.Prepare field notes.Conduct surveying.Essential SkillsExperience with environmental remediation field work.Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting machine parts and basic electrical work.Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to perform fieldwork, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.Strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and solid judgment.Completion of (or willingness to complete) a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training.Additional Skills & QualificationsCapable of working independently with minimal supervision.Skilled in conducting environmental field services in an industrial setting.Proficient in interpreting and understanding SID and NPDES permits requirements.Familiar with proper procedures for collecting, documenting, and preparing SID and NPDES samples for shipment.Ability to work effectively in outdoor environments and various weather conditions.Able to walk long distances, including climbing stairs and ladders.Skilled in troubleshooting auto-samplers and recommending corrective actions when needed.Work Environment
You will work primarily in outdoor conditions, receiving assignments from Project Managers and reporting administratively to an assigned supervisor. Tasks may be completed independently or in conjunction with other staff. You will pick up equipment from the office, drive to your assigned site for the day, and work independently. The role requires carrying equipment (25lb cooler and samples, shovel, hand auger, etc.) across large sites that involve significant walking. A company or rental vehicle will be provide
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
