**Overview**
Kimley-Horn's Colorado Springs, Colorado (CO) office is seeking a Environmental Planning Leader with 15+ years of experience to join their Environmental Planning team! This is an in person role.
**Responsibilities**
+ The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for an environmental planning practice in Orange and surrounding communities.
+ Activities include business development, managing relationships with key clients, support and lead environmental planning projects, and lead and mentor planning team members.
+ Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships.
+ Leadership responsibilities include: operating with integrity and sound business principals, providing practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing an environmental planning practice.
+ Prepare Environmental Quality Act documents, environmental impact reports, and negative and mitigated negative declarations.
+ Assist in Specific Plans, Master Plans, and other environmental or planning policy documents in support of a full range of infill and/or land development related projects.
+ Perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members.
+ Environmental clearance associated with local comprehensive plans/local land use planning
**Qualifications**
+ Degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Environmentlal Planning (or other degree applicable to the planning field)
+ 15+ years of experience managing environmental projects and conducting environmental studies for local agencies and private entities
+ FERC Certification Preferred
+ Experience with a wide range of tasks related to environmental planning
+ Understanding of the agencies involved with the Environmental Quality Act process as well as the state's Land Planning Law
+ Experience with NEPA compliance is a plus
+ Strong writing/verbal skills
+ Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
+ Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
+ Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
+ Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
+ Ability to work independently and as a team
**Salary Range:**
+ $95,000 - $130,000
+ Eligibile for Performance Based Bonus Compensation
