Your Role
This 1st shift Environmental Monitoring Associate Scientist position is for Madison, WI. This role is responsible for the routine environmental monitoring (EM) testing and analysis for the EM Group within the Quality Control department of MilliporeSigma. Testing and analysis may consist of all/some of the following: viable particulate counts, non-viable particulate counts, endotoxin analysis and other daily routine system checks to support Quality Control activities at the Madison and Verona sites. Analysis includes techniques specific to, but not limited to: USP water collection, aseptic handing of a variety of microbial samples and agar plate analysis. The Environmental Monitoring Associate Scientist position will have a willingness to contribute to the overall success of the company by assisting in many areas beyond specific job duties.
Perform assigned environmental monitoring tasks to support the Environmental Monitoring (EM) group, ensuring accuracy and quality data. Assist with training of newer laboratory staff as needed.Work in a safe manner and ensure the lab stays in an audit ready state.Maintain the laboratory by ordering reagents or supplies, disposing of waste properly, and completing general housekeeping chores.Work on problems of diverse scope with assistance. Exercise judgment within generally defined procedures and practices.Solve problems and make decisions with assistance.Meet with internal project groups to keep projects on track.Manage assigned change controls and CAPAs and ensure on-time completion.Participate in deviations to help identify root causes.Assist with revision of SOPs and other EM forms.Work cooperatively within the Quality Control department and with other departments to achieve project goals.Work in compliance with effective procedures and regulatory requirements outlined in ICH Q7 and 21 CFR Parts 11, 210 and 211 as applicable.Support all data integrity initiatives and strive for right first time.Physical Attributes:
Work in analytical testing lab with hazardous and toxic chemicals.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or other life sciences discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of and adherence to 21 CFR Part 11, 210, 211, and 820; ICH Q7; and ISO 14001 and 45001.Good written and verbal communication skills.Good documentation practices and attention to detail.Knowledge and understanding of aseptic microbiological techniques.
