POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will lead the Michigan Refining Division Environmental team. The primary functions of this position will be to supervise the Environmental team, oversee compliance management systems, manage group resources, and provide Environmental leadership at the site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Champion a production-centered, service-minded culture.Focus on delivering value by identifying optimization and value-addition opportunities within our existing permits and requirements.Strive for 100% compliance with permit limits and requirements; ensure timely, proactive communication is made to other site teams and leadership.Conduct periodic self-audits of environmental programs to proactively identify and correct issues.Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance to direct reports and staff as needed.Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all reports and administrative responsibilities (e.g., agency reports, controlled documents, incident follow-up).Act as liaison between the refinery and regulatory agencies such as EGLE and GLWA.Build trusted relationships and communicate environmental information to local community members and leaders.Promote program ownership and generation of quality data within the group.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or environmental science required.Minimum 5 years environmental experience within the refining, chemical, or petrochemical industry is required.SKILLS:
