Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking an Environmental Licensing Specialist in either our Kennesaw, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Naperville, IL; Overland Park, KS; or Dallas, TX office location. In this role, you will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide.
Responsibilities Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of proposed nuclear facilities on air, water, and land resourcesPrepare environmental reports in accordance with NRC regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelinesParticipate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impactsSupport the development of technical content (text, figures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessmentsSupport environmental licensing applications for the Nuclear Regulatory CommissionInteract with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and the public to address environmental concernsStay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practicesAssist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measuresPrepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiencesAbility to travel/work in the field 10% of the time. Typical travel duration will be 3-4 days. Office work is typically 90% of the time for this position. Fieldwork can include site visits and meetings with clients and applicable regulatory agencies Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related fieldMinimum 3 years of experience in environmental consulting, nuclear power, or a related fieldWorking knowledge of environmental regulations (NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, etc.)Experience working with federal or state regulatory agenciesExperience developing technical reports, environmental reports and supporting regulatory reviewsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualifications / Skills
Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, Geology, or a related fieldExperience with environmental impact assessments and environmental report preparationAn understanding of nuclear facility operations and potential environmental impactsPrevious experience permitting utility projects (nuclear, hydropower, renewable and/or oil & gas)Experience working with the Nuclear Regulatory CommissionProfessional registration (e.g., PE, PG, PMP, etc.) preferred#LI-MB1
