We are seeking an **Environmental Investigation and Remediation (EIR) Scientist 1** to join our Alabaster, AL team! Come join us!
**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Provide field oversight services for drilling, soil and groundwater sampling, underground storage tank (UST) removals, remedial system installation & operation, private drinking water well surveys, and other environmental tasks
+ Work independently or as part of a project team
+ Be able to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues for systems.
+ Complete accurate and detailed field logs and diagrams
+ Conduct environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures
+ Support report preparation, by assisting with data compilation, reduction, interpretation, evaluation, and comparison to state and/or federal environmental regulatory standards
+ Maintain ADEM sampling standards of environmental sampling and monitoring for various media and contaminants of concern by following established procedures
+ Promote a safety-first culture that values proactive measures and continuous improvement
+ Collaborate with other team members toward a common goal of providing client-centric services with high quality interactions and deliverables.
**Minimum requirements:**
+ Associates or Bachelors Degree in science related field preferred / High School Diploma or GED with experience will be considered
+ 0-5 years experience in environmental consulting or related field
+ Must locate to Birmingham metro area
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Preferred 40-hour Hazwoper
+ Valid Driver's License & ability to pass a MVR
**Technical requirements:**
+ Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint) preferred
+ Good problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills
+ Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities on an on-going basis.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Preferred 40-hour Hazwoper
+ Valid Driver's License & ability to pass a MVR
**Other miscellaneous qualities:**
+ Willingness to travel regionally up to 75% of the time, overnight stays may be required.
+ Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe manner
+ Experience with other Environmental, Investigation and Remediation Projects preferred (i.e. Phase II, Industrial Hygiene and Vapor Sampling)
