Job Title: Environmental Health and Safety Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing compliance through periodic and annual Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) audits, managing safety devices, developing and implementing comprehensive EHS training programs, and ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a strong background in EHS, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.

ResponsibilitiesConduct periodic and annual LOTO audits to enhance compliance, document outcomes, and implement required updates.Manage safety devices for LOTO applications, including procuring approved LOTO devices, administrating check-in and check-out processes, and LOTO removal if needed.Develop and implement LOTO on-the-job training for authorized employees and comprehensive EHS training programs for identified teams.Maintain necessary documentation including LOTO logs, audit records, compliance metrics, and training records.Collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines to assure effective program implementation and cohesiveness.Promote the integration of safety and health risk management into key business operations, processes, and audits.Analyze data based on company and industry EHS information to drive improvement initiatives.Promote EHS awareness throughout the organization through effective employee communications, participation, and programming.Provide technical assistance and support, serving as a key point of contact for safety issues.Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and customer requirements.Support and conduct EHS audits, develop action plans to resolve findings, and implement countermeasures promptly and effectively.Escalate issues as needed for EHS leadership support.Assist less experienced EHS team members with guidance when needed.Develop and manage ticket support for stakeholder concerns.Attend stand-up meetings.Provide safety guidance for production processes, equipment, and design.Remain up-to-date and conversant with relevant laws, regulations, and other statutory requirements that affect EHS.Essential SkillsEHS experienceHealth & safety knowledgeEnvironmental health expertiseLOTO experienceKnowledge of EHS regulationsRisk assessment and safety training skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental engineering, environmental science, or a related field or relevant experience5+ years of experience as an industrial hygiene professional with aerospace R&D and/or complex manufacturing experience5+ years of experience in EHS support, especially in the aerospace sector5+ years of experience working with regulatory authorities3+ years of experience reviewing technical schematics and drawings for construction safety and improvement assessments3+ years of experience developing and implementing EHS programs/procedures (Electrical Safety, LOTO, and laser safety programs)Willing and capable of traveling between sites as requiredCSP, ASP, NEBOSH certifications or equivalentLaser safety officer or Radiation safety officer experienceExperience providing EHS support in laboratory/R&D, complex manufacturing, and/or production environmentsProven track record of communicating complex informationAbility to engage the workforce to build a strong safety cultureExcellent at creating and maintaining working relationships across all levels and disciplines, receptive to feedback and input from others, and quick to apply changesWork Environment

This position will be based in Redmond or Kirkland locations, supporting both sites. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
