Environmental Engineer

Job Summary:

The Environmental Engineer reports to the Environmental Manager and will collaborate with a team of EHS professionals. You will be accountable for coordinating and auditing plant systems that ensure compliance with applicable air requirements, while providing guidance, support, coaching, counseling, training, and leadership to the EHS Coordinators and their respective departments. Additionally, you will assist with the development of strategies and plans as it relates to Air Permit activities for Davenport Works and Satellite locations. 

The Environmental Engineer will primarily work daytime shifts Monday through Friday while supporting off-shifts and on-call as needed.

In this role, you will:

Define and lead the development of systems and procedures to comply with new/revised Air Permits. Prepare and submit in a timely fashion all required reports, documents, samples, and data required by agencies to meet regulatory compliance obligations, including reports for signature by the V.P. of Manufacturing. Prepare and submit environmental reports for the complex- Title V Semi and Annual Compliance Reports, Air Emission Inventory report, SARA 311,312, 313 reports, Greenhouse Gas (GHG) report, NESHAP RRR report, NSPS Subpart TT and NESHAP SSSS reports. Plan, coordinate, and execute facility stack testing requirements. Provide communication and training that will ensure all levels of plant personnel understand their role and functions for identifying and resolving environmental issues and complying with environmental regulations. Provide procedures, training and systems that will minimize civil and criminal exposures of the plant, business unit, and corporate personnel due to plant environmental events and activities. Maintain awareness and pro-actively influence emerging and existing environmental laws/regulations which may impact plant operation. Negotiate environmental permits that reflect cost effective process design, reasonable operation constraints, and are consistent with corporate environmental policy and regulatory requirements. Functionally supervise the efforts of consultants, testing technicians to carry out permitting, field testing, and project work to meet regulatory requirements. Maintain records or data files as supporting documents for historical and/or future permits. Prepare air permitting strategy and guidance on growth and sustaining projects.
