Job Description/Responsibilities Environmental Engineer

Bio: The Environmental Engineer is responsible for leading the development, tracking, and compliance of all environmental permits at their designated Sazerac Facility.  The Environmental Engineer will drive improvements at their Facility through best practice sharing and implementation of environmental initiatives. This role will support our Bardstown, KY & New Albany, IN sites.

 

Creates and develops a personal development plan with the Environmental Director to improve skill / competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance. Keeps abreast of all environmental regulations by developing a continuing education training plan.Help drive the culture of "the most desired place to be" through career advancement. Create personal career goals and document in a plan in the CDS system with the Environmental Director. Facilitate team members in achieving their career development potentialProvide environmental leadership at their Facility that is consistent with our culture. Ensures employees are treated fairly and with respect. Creates a team environment where all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and exceeding customer expectations. Participates in efforts to address issues identified through climate surveys and make the Company "one of the industry's most desired places to be."Ensures that their Facility is in compliance with all environmental regulations by leading the updating of permits and tracking of compliance reporting data. Develops and implements plans to ensure sustainability in environmental compliance.  Keeps abreast of all technological advancements, permits, and environmental compliance updates.Leads the development and implementation of environmental process improvements throughout the Facility. Establishes a plan to raise the level of environmental awareness / compliance within the Facility and to the Environmental Director.Point of contact for all external environmental audits. Prepares and presents all requested data for environmental compliance audits.  Facilitate the site visits for environmental external audits.Meets and exceeds customer expectations through ensuring that the Facility is in compliance with all environmental regulations.Lead the development of a Facility wide environmental compliance plan. Support operations through the implementation and continued support of environmental permits, regulatory data tracking, and reporting. Identify and lead cost savings initiatives within the organization.Ensures that all air permits, wastewater permits, storm water permits, and river discharge permits are up to date and filed in accordance with the appropriate governmental agency.Leads the development of data processes and control systems to ensure that the Facility is in compliance with all applicable environmental permits. Ensures that environmental data is accurately collected, recorded, and submitted as outlined in the various environmental permits. Qualifications/Requirements RequirementsMUST5 years relevant experienceBachelors Degree in Engineering related disciplineWorking knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and Outlook)Demonstrate the ability to work as a team as well as self-directedAbility to manage multiple projects at one timeStrong planning and organizational skillsKnowledge of environmental regulations and related compliance experienceStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks at one timeYes relevant experience (minimum)PREFERREDExcellent oral & written communication skillsISO14001 or a similar Environmental Management System ExperiencePhysical RequirementsAbility to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.Ability to work in outdoor weather conditionsNoise level at work station is moderate (business office with computer printers)Ability to travel (up to 10%)
