Overview

Job Title: Environmental Coordinator

Location: Piet Retief, Mpumalanga

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Coordinator to join our client’s team in Piet Retief. The Environmental Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and overseeing environmental programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with local, regional, and national environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement environmental policies and procedures in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
– Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
– Monitor and track environmental performance metrics to measure progress and identify opportunities for sustainability initiatives.
– Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote environmental awareness and best practices.
– Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies as required.
– Stay current on environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices are maintained.
– Oversee the planning and implementation of environmental projects, including waste management, recycling programs, and energy efficiency initiatives.
– Conduct training and awareness sessions for employees on environmental issues and best practices.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance and management.
– Advanced computer literacy
– Knowledge of local environmental regulations and standards.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office and environmental management software.
– Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
– Valid driver’s license.
