Atlantic Health System is seeking a Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Overlook Medical Center.  Required hours are 7:30AM-3:30PM, including every other weekend. 

Essential Function/Responsibilities:

Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc., empty trash, high/low dusting, mop floors, sanitize all furniture in patient rooms, clean commode, clean bathrooms and discard debris, remove soiled linen and replace with fresh linen in patient rooms. EVS Aide will also need to work at Union Campus. Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids. Reports any repairs to maintenance. Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings. Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff. Performs other related duties as assigned. Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift. Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization. Removes all trash and linen within the hospital. Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials. Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.

Requirements:

HS Diploma/GED or Equivalent required or will obtain within 2 years of employment. To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English. Solid work history a must. Need to meet the fit testing requirement. Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.

Relevant Experience:

Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting preferred. Prior Floor-care experience preferred.
