Summary

The Operator is based out of our Edmonton facility where they will be responsible for handling, consolidating, and processing hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facility. The Operator must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks.

Job Duties

Loading and offloading products and waste as required.

Operate equipment such as wheel loader, forklift, and vac truck.

Perform physical tasks including lifting, moving containers and other heavy materials.

Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocol.

Operation of processing machinery and equipment as required.

Ensure safe operation and procedures are followed at all times.

Complete paperwork properly & ensure it is submitted.

Complete job hazard risk assessments.

Provide facility support and process work when required.

Involved with execution of chemical and petroleum transfers.

Requirements

Experience operating a wheel loader

Experience processing hazardous/non-hazardous waste is an asset.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Regulatory and technical knowledge with respect to the Hazardous Waste Management Industry is a definite asset.

Additional training and experience such as First Aid / CPR, H2S Alive is an asset.

Ability to perform physical labour intensive tasks

Good computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, time management and communication skills.

Enthusiastic self-starter with a strong work ethic and proven track record for success.

Reliable team player that is supportive of co-workers.
