Responsibilities
Perform roadway design tasks under the guidance of senior engineersApply engineering principles pertaining to and in support of the detailed plans and construction documents for roadway projects.Work in a team environment to develop contract drawings using MicroStation and/or AutoCADPrepare technical design documentation, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and specifications Gain valuable experience in the design of roadway geometrics, intersections, sidewalks/trails, pavement design, drainage, erosion and sedimentation control, and work zone traffic control.Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with contract documentsParticipate in job site visits and attend project meetingsInterface with other technical disciplines (Bridges / Drainage)Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university1 to 5 years of experience on transportation projects within New York State including roadways, bridges, and trailsNew York State Engineering in Training (EIT) certificate preferred General understanding of relevant software such as Microstation and/or AutoCADD Shall be self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn and grow professionally Must have a positive mindset and a good work ethic with a desire to learn and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. Good writing and communication skills a plus
