BlackRock’s Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock’s fiduciary and enterprise risks. The Enterprise Risk function within RQA oversees those risks which directly impact the corporate entity (i.e. BlackRock, Inc. and its subsidiaries), rather than the fiduciary risks assumed by funds/clients, such as investment risks and counterparty risks. The team’s focus includes but is not limited to: operational, regulatory, technology, third party, model and market risk.
The Resilience Risk Assessment team within the Enterprise Risk function is responsible for assessing the firm’s prudential risks to ensure the firm’s capital and liquidity resources remain adequate under severe stress. Some key prudential risks are credit, market, liquidity and operational risk.

• Support enterprise risk assessments and documentation, such as Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment (ICARA), including the development and documentation of key risk scenarios and modelling for operational risk capital.
• Partner with business and risk partners to understand and quantify the financial impact of stress scenarios.
• Production of risk reporting for the Enterprise Risk team, Risk Owners, Committees and Boards.
• Enable oversight, challenge and reporting to business areas on risk management, design and effective operation of controls, including Risk & Control Self Assessments.
• Development and active promotion of the risk management framework and BlackRock risk-aware culture, including roll-out of prudential risk framework tools and training.
• Provide support for the development of risk appetite and risk profiling.
