MAIN FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Sales
• Develop a sales target and execution plan.
• Identify and establish relationships with key contacts.
• Communicate and educate client prospects about the Teraco value proposition and position this within the clients' sales engagement.
• Understand client positioning within the greater Teraco ecosystem and communicate its value to the Teraco business.
• Produce joint marketing opportunities and deliver content related to Teraco client opportunities (events, case studies, etc.).
• Support Teraco operations in daily client interactions.
• Achieve (and exceed) sales targets.
• Manage and report on the sales pipeline.
• Collaborate with internal teams (technical, marketing, operations) to tailor solutions to client needs.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and market developments in the data centre space.

Account planning and execution
• Network within the industry to identify new opportunities and maintain visibility.
• Attend relevant conferences, events, and functions.
• Willingness to travel occasionally, primarily within South Africa, based on events and business opportunities.
• Identify new markets, business opportunities, threats, and competitor activities.
• Communicate new prospects to the Teraco business.
• Develop strategic account plans for key clients to drive growth and long-term relationships.
• Conduct regular client reviews to ensure satisfaction and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
Administration
• Maintain CRM with up-to-date client contact and activity details.
• Negotiate additional terms for the supply of services.
• Ensure timely completion of proposals, quotes, and contracts
Reporting and communication
• Build relationships at all business levels to maximise awareness of Teraco and foster strategic partnerships.
• Conduct personal performance reviews and reporting.
• Provide regular feedback to management on client needs, market conditions, and potential business opportunities.
SKILLS REQUIREMENT
• An innate ability to understand unique industry requirements.
• Experience in ICT, specifically cloud, networks, and IT services.
• An established and proven network of contacts in the ICT industry with an understanding of the industry’s unique workings.
• Ability to identify and understand prospective client colocation needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the business, including at CIO/CTO, C-Suite, and board level.
• Excellent problem solving and organisational skills.
• Experience and understanding of RFP process.
• Strong negotiation skills and an ability to close deals.
• Ability to work independently and be a positive team player.
• Meticulous and analytical.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Matric qualifications and degree/diploma.
• Five or more years relevant sales experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Office and CRM system skills.
• Proven track record in closing large accounts.
• Experience in the ICT sector dealing with finance and enterprise markets.
• Solid understanding of general cloud concepts and application.
