We have both full and part-time positions available for the summer, with the potential to continue afterwards for those interested.

Position Summary
Kaplan International Teachers are responsible for all aspects of classroom management within their designated classes, as well as adherence to the Kaplan curriculum, helping international students achieve their academic goals through English language instruction and preparation for standardized tests. We are looking for charismatic, talented, and professional teachers who can provide international students with an outstanding educational experience.

Key Job Responsibilities

Teach in-person classes using Kaplan curriculum, across multiple levels, as assignedPrepare lesson plans according to established syllabusMaintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning, including maintaining classroom facilitiesMaintain accurate record keeping for daily attendance and student performanceComplete all paperwork within required deadlinesAttend staff meetings and in-house workshops; participate in ongoing teacher training programsBecome familiar with and adhere to company policies and proceduresTutor students as assigned and if availableWork with academic manager to improve delivery of Kaplan academic programs Accept and incorporate feedback on classroom performance to ensure positive and meaningful student experienceEffectively communicate with school administrative staff regarding planned and unplanned absences; provide clear instructions and materials for substitutesDemonstrate a positive and 'team building' attitude in the workplace

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's DegreeApproved TESOL Certificate or equivalentSuperior skills in creating a dynamic, interactive classroom experienceDemonstrated team building skills in the workplaceMust be authorized to work in CanadaTESL Certification or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of experience teaching ESL in a group settingExperience with industry, international students and/ or overseas teaching experienceExperience teaching Test Preparation courses (IELTS, TOEFL and Cambridge), University Pathways courses and/or Business coursesAbility to work a flexible scheduleOne or more foreign language ability
