JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
Provides support to the engineering and design staff through performing a variety of non-routine and complex assignments during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Installs, monitors, and services equipment and systems at the company and the client sites. Performs or coordinates test and evaluation, check-out, and certification tasks; performs validations/ verifications of various electronic systems. Designs and writes test procedures, critiques, and system test procedures and assists in the development of upgrades and enhancements. Implements Engineering Change Instructions. Investigates system problems and provides white papers on the results of the investigation; prepares recommendations and solutions on system problems to include alternate testing to verify change. Trains others in the operation and performance of the system(s). Establishes and maintains filing systems, databases, and logs as needed for tracking project status and inventory. Assists in providing the on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks as needed. Complies with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications, and test procedures. Provides technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements. Serves as senior/lead technician and assists in the training of other technicians. Coordinates and supervises a team of employees for a given job with the responsibility for scheduling tasks and monitoring technical and employee performance. Supports engineers in the development of technical proposals and provides input on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work. Provides technical support that is recognized outside of the company services as one of the few industry or discipline experts. Uses established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete assignments of moderate complexity that vary in nature and sequence. Performs related work as required.RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate will have Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge of telemetry tracking systems and associated sub-systems. Job duties include, but are not limited to, operations, maintenance and sustainment engineering support of telemetry, data transmission, and network systems under general technical guidance. Real-time support duties include establishing end-to-end connectivity for pre-mission checks of voice, video, and data links. Will monitor real-time missions for abnormalities and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Experience with RF spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and other electronics and communications test equipment. Must possess a working knowledge of local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN). Experience terminating coaxial, network and fiber optic cabling. Must understand, interpret, and redline engineering drawings and be able to utilize schematics to install, alter and repair equipment. Proficient with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and other relevant software applications. The candidate must be able to work overtime including weekends as well as varying and rotating shifts to accommodate mission support objectives which can be for a set period of 6 months to 1 year. Will perform preventative maintenance on all equipment in accordance with established procedures (Local Work Cards), operating procedures, tech manuals, and other official documentation. Will create trouble tickets using Maximo database to track work performed as required by procedures. Regular communication with the customers and counterparts through email, phone, virtual and in-person meetings. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to the Secret level. Job requirements dictate that the applicant be able achieve and maintain certification in communications Tower Climbing/Rescue, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms, and forklift operations. Some travel may be required.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Maximo database for logistics, purchasing, and tool control. Experience in communications tower climbing and elevated work platforms (boom and scissor lifts) is required. Certifications in CompTIA Security Plus, Electronics, Networking, and RedHat Linux are a plus. Active Commercial Driver's License (CDL) desired.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must have vocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution or equivalent military training and at least 10 years of job-related experience. Must have excellent communication and analytical skills and working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. This position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work and direct the work of others under deadlines. The incumbent must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance and must have a valid, current state-issued driver's license.The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $77,396 to $83,200 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Most positions involve work typical of office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. Frequent travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
