We are looking for individuals with an eagerness to learn and assist in the drafting and development of various highway projects, ranging from minor to moderately complex. DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this role, you will participate in a 12 month comprehensive training program that culminates in a job placement within the Design Unit upon successful completion. You will engage in entry-level technical tasks, assisting in the preparation of a wide variety of highway, bridge, right-of-way plot plans, and similar supplemental drawings. The use of Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) workstations, along with traditional drafting methods, will be employed to develop and prepare plans in accordance with the Design Manual - Part 3, Pub. 408, Items Catalog, and CADD Standards, transitioning from preliminary sketches to comprehensive working plans that include layouts and material specifications. Under the guidance of senior members, you will draft detailed construction plans and assist in verifying horizontal and vertical grade lines, drawing profiles and cross sections, and placing typical templates on cross sections, computing earthwork and materials quantities and calculating excavation needs. Additionally, you will interpret and plot deeds to formulate right-of-way plans and analyze conventional and three-dimensional surveys to generate plan sheets reflecting existing geometries. Work Schedule and Additional Information: + Full-time employment + Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
