Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing and coordinating planning, developing scopes of work (SOW) and/or Performance Work Statements (PWS) and assist Engineering with the same. Establish responsibilities and set expectations for contractors. Control and manage the project budgets and schedules. Serve as the Project Manager responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned facilities projects. Responsible overall for contracts assigned from inception through final inspection and acceptance. Provide system control, oversight, data entry, repair history, analysis and documentation of the ongoing maintenance control program for equipment including electrical and mechanical operating equipment, machinery, miscellaneous tools. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes familiarity with various technical engineering methods, principles, and work techniques; developing cost estimates; knowledge of facility functions; forecasting schedules, budget, manpower, and quality issues; coordinating large service contracts; and providing oversight for ongoing machinery, operating equipment, and tools maintenance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted." You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Engineering and Technology Facilities Procurement and Contract Management Program/Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10). Education Additional Information Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years. Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.
