Engineering Team Leader Mechanical - RTS ENG CAP

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering Team Leader to join our Rail and Transit Systems team at out Auburn NSW Facility.

The engineering team leader contributes alongside and oversees a team, including professional engineers and other staff, and provides authority and technical guidance team members and associated stakeholders. These teams are involved in complex engineering tasks, including systems engineering, manufacturing coordination, configuration control, systems assurance, materials compliance, and engineering change management.

ABOUT YOU:

Degree qualifications – Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 10 years of experience managing an engineering discipline Extensive experience in the rail sector desirable  Shows personal commitment by actively leading and engaging in best practice Zero Harm and return-to-work initiatives Experience in and dedication to performance management, including conducting performance reviews and providing feedback High level communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Experience with 3D CAD systems Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles Familiarity with the administration and interpretation of design standards technical specifications and contractual obligations.  Approves engineering specifications, reports, mechanical calculations, design layouts, production drawings, and cost estimates in pursuit of the ongoing maintenance and reliability of current fleets of rollingstock Responsible for defining requirements and developing reference designs for new mechanical systems to be included in the design baseline where needed to accommodate obsolescence and necessary engineering change such as for reliability or safety.
