Engineering Specialist, Electrical
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** + **Standards compliance:** Ensure that all electrical facilities meet with Ford standards and Mexico electrical regulation. + **Design and Development:** Participate in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for new and existing manufacturing equipment. This will involve creating schematics, wiring diagrams, and other technical documentation. + **Troubleshooting and Maintenance:** Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues on power distribution system, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to minimize downtime. This includes working with various electrical components, such as medium tension substation, electrical transformers. + **Safety and Compliance:** Ensure all electrical systems and equipment comply with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA). This includes conducting regular safety inspections and implementing necessary preventative measures. + **Project Management:** Manage smaller electrical engineering projects, tracking progress, managing budgets, and ensuring timely completion. + **Continuous Improvement:** Identify opportunities for improvement in electrical systems and processes, contributing to lean manufacturing initiatives and cost reduction strategies. + **Collaboration:** Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and quality assurance personnel. + **Documentation:** Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance logs. **Qualifications:** + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. + Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry. + Strong understanding of electrical systems, including AC/DC circuits, motor controls, High/medium/Low power distribution and industrial networking (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet). + Experience with programming PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and designing HMIs is essential. + Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software for creating electrical schematics and drawings. + Familiarity with relevant electrical safety standards and regulations. + Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. + Strong communication and teamwork skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. + Experience with lean manufacturing principles and methodologies. + Project management certification (e.g., PMP). **Work Environment:** This position is located in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The work environment may involve exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
