Job Summary

You will primarily work on updating specification documents for medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear for S&C’s power utility customers in Canada and US. This is a great opportunity to learn from experienced engineers who will provide all the necessary training to be successful during your work term.

Work Term: Spring/Summer 2025 (8 Months) 
 

Responsibilities

Develop basic electrical & mechanical design knowledge of metal-enclosed switchgear Review, with the support of experienced team members, power utility conditions of service documents for assigned territories to understand their individual service entrance requirements Prepare summary specification documents for the utilities & major customers which S&C serves Assist with reviewing and preparing proposal documents for medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear Job-shadow engineering team members in multiple departments to gain an overview of the work process flow Perform additional duties to assist the engineering team as needed

 

Qualifications

Electrical Engineering student Available for a 8 Month Co-op Work Term beginning in Spring/Summer 2025 Knowledge of the basics of power system protection & control Self-starter with excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently as well within a team environment. Fast-learner with an aptitude for learning company-specific software Proficient with Microsoft software, specifically Excel, Word and MS Project
