Role Definition
The NPI Technical Leader is responsible for managing the delivery of technical objectives in the areas of Cost, Time, and Quality for Prime Product NPI programs for India produced models. This will be achieved through facilitation of cross functional engineering activities, risk determination and mitigation, scope management, and issue management. The role will also represent Engineering and Product Design on an NPI team. This role reports to the Product Chief Engineer and is located at the BCP India facility in Thiruvallur.
Responsibilities
• Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
• Coordinating resources across the businesses with sales and marketing, product development groups, value chain and manufacturing.
• Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
• Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.
• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Highly Qualified Candidates will have:
• At least 15 years of construction equipment product engineering experience with progressive job responsibilities
• Understanding of Caterpillar policies, standards, and procedures - NPI Process, Product Development, Manufacturing, Product Marketing
• Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary, as this role requires interaction, collaboration, and relationship building with multiple cross functional teams.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Demonstrated technical leadership in previous roles
• Global experience or heavy collaboration with global engineering teams
