Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Join our dynamic team in Caterpillar’s Excavation Division (EXD) as an Engineering Project Team Leader! This is your chance to lead strategic improvement initiatives and make a significant impact on our OPACC (Operations, Product, and Capacity Cost) journey. As a key member of the Engineered Value Chain (EVC) team. In this role, you will oversee the entire value chain from supplier selection to finished product delivery, closely collaborating with EXD Product Managers and other business units to ensure cohesive strategy execution and alignment.
**What you’ll do:**
· Drive Success: Manage EXD’s OPACC Improvement Projects to ensure successful outcomes across all relevant business units; Collaborate with Purchasing and internal Product Group leaders to ensure alignment with the overall business strategy.
· Product and Functional Development: Oversee all critical product-related activities, including development, capacity planning, cost management, quality assurance and supplier development; Develop and execute strategies to address both current and future product requirements.
· Strategic Vision: Formulate and articulate a strategic vision for the Excavation EVC Operational Impact Analysis (OIA), translating it into actionable short-term and long-term strategies.
· Initiative Management: Identify and prioritize OPACC initiatives, presenting robust business cases to stakeholders across various business units.
· Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to achieve product-related goals and foster effective collaboration.
· Market Research and Product Development: Support market research to identify customer needs and develop new aftermarket models, including introduction plans for Caterpillar dealers.
· Best Practices and Knowledge Sharing: Capture, document, and disseminate best practices for profit improvement, replicating successful initiatives across business units.
· Communication and Problem Resolution: Engage with relevant departments (e.g., Procurement, Supply Chain) to resolve issues efficiently and drive business results.
**What you’ll have**
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science from an accredited college or university.
· Extensive experience in Technical Excellence that you'll leverage in casting, forging, fabrications design, and supplier development or operational deployment within Caterpillar facilities, along with your deep understanding of Caterpillar processes, to effectively navigate potential roadblocks.
· Deep experience to Influence Through Expertise, leveraging effective influencing tactics and strategies to deepen your own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside the organization.
· Expert level Project Management skills that give you the ability to use effective strategies and tactics to plan, organize, monitor, and control global cross functional projects across several different functions.
· Extensive Team Management skills including the knowledge of, and ability to use, effective team building techniques; ability to form and manage effective teams.

· Strong combined experience in Design Engineering, Purchasing and/or Supply Chain.
· Deep experience in project management, operations, or project leadership.

· This position is located in Akashi
· Domestic relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
· Up to 30% domestic and international travel can be expected to support global projects and initiatives.
