Engineering mCAD Administrator

Overview We are seeking a full-time Engineering Application Administrator 2 / mCAD Administrator in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing technology using tools and scripting as well as organizing, leading, and coordinating with other parts of Garmin to ensure components of overall system are managed. Essential Functions Demonstrates proficient use and knowledge of standards/procedures Uses tools/scripting to efficiently manage Solidworks and OnShape technology Participates in roadmap planning for systems or applications Coordinates/communicates changes impacting cross-functional team members Identifies interdependencies in system and application components Makes recommendations for component level improvements Works with associates to support successful mCAD system onboarding activities including administration of licenses, configuring access levels, and providing early support for FAQs Implements, configures, and supports applications specifically related to mCAD, including custom properties, templates, and workflows Proactively manages system license utilization and works with supervisor to add or remove seats as required by engineering business needs Manages migration of data from start to finish – using modeling techniques, migration tools, and third-party contract services as needed Completes quality assurance testing/troubleshooting of custom features and system bug fixes to validate expected system behavior Updates and maintains system and process documentation as needed to support institutional knowledge sharing of user guidance and operational best practices Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques and a good understanding of the breadth of system use cases by Garmin teams Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Design and Drafting, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science or another technology related field AND a minimum of 4 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Experience using 3D Modelling (mCAD) Software – Onshape or SolidWorks CAD systems that includes surface modeling and sheet metal designs Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products Demonstrated ability to support enterprise systems and to solve moderately complex technical problems independently Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutions Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a small team setting Consistently demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work documentation and organization Desired Qualifications Previous experience working in a team environment 4 Year Technical Diploma in Technology related field Previous experience using Product Data management (PDM) and/or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software Basic understanding of relational database and web communication (API) concepts Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
