Engineering Manager- Mining
Minimum requirements  
Qualifications:
National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field. Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field advantageous. Section 13 / 26B Trade Certificate (Mech), GCC. Management Development Programme (MDP) Certificate advantageous. Project Management Certificate advantageous. Valid Driver’s License. Experience:
Minimum 8-10 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer or similar in the Mining Industry. Experience developing and reviewing COP’s and SOP’s. Experience in Mechanical, Electrical and TMM Machinery. Experience on a Green Fields / Start-up mining project advantageous.
Knowledge & Skills:

Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, regulations for TMM and other relevant legislation. Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in Mining. Financial and stock management principles and cost control measures in mining operations. Risk assessments and management techniques specific to the mining industry, including inspections for repairs and service maintenance work. Management, construction, and erection of structures & infrastructure. Electro, Diesel & Hydraulic mining equipment maintenance and operation. Equipment installation, operation, and maintenance in underground conventional and trackless mining sections. Knowledge in vertical/decline shafts operations & maintenance, conveyor, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, pumping systems and structural knowledge. Exceptional communication and presentation skills for effectively conveying technical information to various audiences and diverse stakeholders. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to create a positive and productive work environment and effectively manage a team. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyse complex situations to address operational challenges and resolve issues. Make data-driven decisions and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Adaptability to changing circumstances and willingness to take responsibility and initiative. Able to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and effectively collaborate and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams. Exceptional organizational and time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
