Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager - Entertainment Systems is responsible for overseeing a team of engineering and technical personnel in the completion of engineering or testing projects. Their duties include hiring and training qualified engineering staff, setting project budgets and timelines for completion and helping their staff to execute the project deliverables. The Engineering Manager will collaborate with other team leaders and departments to ensure program profitability and success. This position will be located in Livonia, MI.
As an Engineering Manager – Entertainment Systems, you will:Lead the effort to establish and implement Engineering Services strategic priorities in alignment with business strategy to drive results to grow the businessManages staff and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel in alignment to business and financial objectivesEnsure that processes and programs are standard and effective to meet business and customer goalsForges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers.Participate in the formulation of business goals, objectives, policies, financial projections and customer quotingSecures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investmentsCollaborates with other team leaders and departmentsParticipate in company presentations and contract negotiationsMaintains high level of expertise in their field or sectorCommunicates technical information to non-technical stakeholders
Minimum qualifications to be considered:Bachelor’s degree in engineeringMinimum of 8 years of relevant work experienceMinimum of 2 years of management experiencePersonnel and project management skillsExpert-level knowledge of sector technology and processesLeadership, teambuilding, and mentoring skillsStrong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skillsCritical thinking and problem-solving skills and attention to detailOrganizational, planning, and documentation skillsProficiency using presentation software to explain complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholdersAbility to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneouslyProven customer relationship skills including the ability to interpret customer requests and deliverables with a focus on cost, quality and delivery
A successful candidate may also have:Master’s degree in engineering or MBA5 years of experience in a Senior or Lead engineering capacityWorking knowledge of program management tools (risk analyses, communication plans, timing plans, business cases, comprehensive financial analyses)Strong leadership and management skills, ability to solve complex problems, work independentlyOur full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, paid holidays, and more.
