Engineering Manager
Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Engineering Manager to oversee all engineering operations at our food production site in Kempton Park. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of all equipment and facilities at the site.

Key Responsibilities:
– Lead and supervise the engineering team, including technicians and maintenance staff, to ensure efficient and effective operations
– Develop and implement maintenance and repair programs to minimize downtime and ensure the reliability of equipment and facilities
– Coordinate with production and quality teams to prioritize maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to production schedules
– Manage the site’s engineering budget and expenses, including procurement of spare parts and supplies
– Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards for engineering and maintenance activities
– Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency
– Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized engineering services and projects
– Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering and maintenance management, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment
– Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
– Proficiency in maintenance management systems and software
– Solid understanding of engineering principles, mechanical systems, and electrical controls
– Experience in project management and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma)
– Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in an industrial setting
