Due to continued growth, our Nuclear Service Group is seeking an Engineering Manager for our Advanced Nuclear Division. This position can be located in our Kennesaw, GA, Naperville, IL, Overland Park, KS or other office locations. From maintaining schedules, budgets and the quality of deliverables to supporting business development initiatives, this role is pivotal in ensuring project success. Responsibilities Ensure the Engineering Unit staff maintains schedules, budgets, and quality of deliverablesWork with Project Managers and Project Engineers to define the scope of work. Direct/assign work to the Engineering Unit to balance activitiesMaintain responsibility for the engineer team’s quality; establish and enforce quality standards for the team through the Project Engineers and SupervisorsMaintain, update, and execute Continuous Improvement PlansAccountable for ensuring project budget and schedule are met for division projectsResponsible for the approval of engineering documents produced by the Engineering UnitBusiness Development – Aggressively support marketing effortsLead proposal preparation with input from Project Managers, Project Engineers, and discipline supervisorsDevelop and maintain professional relationships with client counterpartsAssist with development and execution of business plan development and implementation, market assessment and planning, contract negotiation, product and service developmentRecruit, hire, develop and retain staffIdentify and promote opportunities for site work. Identify and promote training opportunities (ex: owner’s groups, manufacturer, professional society)Utilize the review/approval process of deliverables as technical training opportunity for staffProvide timely and appropriate performance feedback and coachingPromote professional development (ex: professional license, certifications, and client qualifications). Support, follow and enforce company policies and proceduresIdentify and develop future leaders of the organizationDemonstrate technical leadership, providing resolution to technical issues either through own knowledge or by coordination with Subject Matter ExpertDrive continuous improvement in the organization utilizing the lessons learned and corrective action programsContribution to Business Goals – Meets applied time goals for self; in addition, ensures that his/her staff meets their applied time goals Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required and 10+ years of engineering experience in the Power Industry.  A PE license is strongly desiredPrior experience with the Advanced Nuclear and Small Modular Reactor technologiesExperience with “clean sheet” design of power plant systemsExperience with the management and coordination of complex BIM / 3D models containing major plant systems, structures, and componentsExperience with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) or other large-scale project delivery methods is desiredKnowledge of applicable government codes and industry standardsExcellent organizational, time management, strategic planning, writing, communication, decision-making, and presentation skillsExcellent verbal communication skills; Comfortable and effective communicator with staff, clients (internal and external), management, etc., choosing the right mode of communication for the situation and relaying the right messageStrong technical writing, attention to detail, and human performance skillsStrong coordination and team-building skills; demonstrated ability to work across disciplines, divisions, and teams.  Ability to assess and understand team strengths and weaknesses and adjust level of support/oversight as appropriateAbility to motivate team members and achieve goals through positive, winning attitude and effective leadership style which is consistent with ENERCON’s Defining Excellence fundamentalsProblem-solving and general scientific evaluation skillsRequired to travel up to 25+% of the time to client sites (expected to travel at least one time per month) for project meetings, marketing meetings and conferences.  Also, required to travel between ENERCON regional offices
