ENGINEERING MANAGER

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to lead the execution of a major EPCM project in Sweden valued at €100 million. This is a critical role with responsibility for coordinating engineering efforts from detailed design through to construction, ensuring compliance with standards, quality, and schedule.

This position will be a contract role based in Stenungsund, for around 22 months on a Mon – Fri working schedule. The chosen individual will have experience working with solids and dry handling and come from a STEM background.

Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate all engineering activities for the project Supervise discipline engineers and document control teams Manage engineering contractor performance and deliverables Ensure alignment with HSE targets, project scope, and company procedures Oversee document control, design reviews, and inter-discipline coordination Act as technical point of contact for vendors and third parties Support transition from design to field engineering during construction Identify and implement lessons learned and support continuous improvement Manage change control, risk assessments, and compliance with local regulations
Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (required) Minimum 5 years' experience in project or engineering management roles Strong background in industrial/chemical installations and solid handling Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a high-pressure environment Proven experience managing EPCM contractors Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and decision-making skills Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus Knowledge of ATEX (Dust) standards is highly desirable Familiarity with project management tools and reporting systems
