About the Role:
We are seeking a highly technical and people-centric Engineering Manager to lead our Product Foundations team. This team owns the foundational architecture, shared services, and UI component libraries that power product teams across the organization. You will guide a high-performing group of engineers to drive engineering excellence, architectural scalability, and product consistency, while nurturing individual growth and career development.
As a key leader, you will partner with product, design, and other engineering leaders to build systems that scale, accelerate development velocity, and enable exceptional product experiences for end users.
What You’ll Do:
+ Define and drive the technical vision and strategy for foundational systems used across the product organization.
+ Partner closely with Product Management to ship new features, strengthen existing infrastructure, and improve engineering efficiency.
+ Mentor and grow a team of talented engineers through stretch goals, feedback, and career development plans.
+ Hire top engineering talent and help foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and inclusion.
+ Proactively manage and reduce technical debt while ensuring platform stability and performance.
+ Lead technical architecture decisions for scalable, reusable services and components.
+ Optimize engineering workflows and agile processes to increase velocity, quality, and cross-team collaboration.
+ Represent the team in leadership forums, sprint planning, and strategic roadmap sessions.
+ Serve as a technical escalation point and help guide incident management and resolution when needed.
Requirements
What You Bring:
+ 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally with exposure to scalable web applications or platform infrastructure.
+ 4+ years in a leadership role managing software engineers, with a proven track record of building and scaling high-performing teams.
+ Prior experience as a Senior or Staff-level Engineer with ownership of critical systems.
+ Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments supporting customer-facing or mission-critical platforms.
+ Strong understanding of modern frontend and backend technologies like React, TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, Go, Java, or Python.
+ Experience designing and supporting service-oriented architecture (SOA) or microservices.
+ Comfortable working with TDD, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
+ Ability to balance technical depth and team leadership, making informed decisions under pressure.
+ Familiarity with compliance, security, or data regulation considerations in high-scale environments is a plus.
+ A collaborative mindset, strong written/verbal communication skills, and the ability to lead with empathy and humility.

+ Experience building shared component libraries, design systems, or internal developer platforms (IDPs).
+ Exposure to highly regulated domains like fintech, healthcare, or HR tech.
+ Passion for mentoring engineers and building diverse, inclusive teams.
