The Medium Wheel Loader (MWL) product group at Caterpillar designs, manufactures, and supports products and services that lead the industry in quality, cost efficiency, availability, and technology. We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as an **Engineering Manager – Large Structures and Worktools** . In this role, you will serve as the global design control owner for large structures and worktools within the MWL product group. You will play a critical role in leading engineering efforts and will be accountable for achieving goals related to quality, cost, velocity, and team development. Your responsibilities will span from legacy designs to current production and future innovations—ensuring that all solutions meet both customer expectations and business objectives. **What You Will (Job Duties):** + **Lead Global Engineering Teams:** Direct Lead and manage an engineering team of professionals, focusing on achieving organizational goals, fostering professional development, and driving continuous improvement. + **Optimize Efficiency:** Monitor and enhance product and process performance, ensuring high standards of quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery across all engineering outputs. + **Implement Framework:** Establish and maintain robust engineering processes for the design, development, and manufacturing of components, systems, products, and technologies. + **Technical Complexities** : Oversee and resolve engineering challenges related to product design, process optimization, and quality—across the entire product lifecycle, from concept through end-of-life. + **Drive Innovation:** Champion advancing structural Virtual Product Development at the enterprise level. **What You Will Have (Basic Qualifications):** + **Degree Requirements:** Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering + **Managing People:** + Leads high-performing teams, proactively addresses performance and interpersonal conflicts, fosters inclusive collaboration, and implements coaching and mentoring. + Regularly reviews employee performance and provides constructive feedback, recognizes achievements, and promotes a positive and engaging work environment. + **Technical Excellence:** + Provides innovative solutions to complex challenges, mentors others to enhance their technical capabilities, and promotes best practices in problem-solving. + Advises on technical assessments, engages subject matter experts when needed, and holds self and others accountable for high technical performance and continuous improvement. + **Global Collaboration:** + Proficient leading and developing teams across multiple locations, fostering collaboration and alignment towards common objectives. + Demonstrated ability to understand and respect cultural differences is crucial for effective global leadership. **Additional Info** : + **Office Model:** Caterpillar requires employees to work onsite in the office five days a week. + **Travel:** 10-20% domestic and international travel is expected. + **Relocation:** Domestic relocation will be available to those who qualify. + **ISE:** ISE assignments are **not** available. + **Visa Sponsorship:** Visa sponsorship is **not** available. **Summary Pay Range:** $156,000.00 - $234,000.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
