Job Title: Engineering Intern

Job Description

The Engineering Intern position offers a variety of opportunities including basic engineering tasks related to design, analysis, test and integration. You will be able to apply manufacturing and engineering theory in a real-world environment. You will participate in and lead initiatives that create value by developing cross-functional tools to support sales, engineering, and operations, allowing you to experience and refine cross-functional team skills.

ResponsibilitiesSupport the transition from 2D to 3D CAD through the development of libraries and tools that can be used across the organization.Develop selection tables and calculators that can ease the process of translating engineering specifications into customer requirements.Execute a product optimization project using applied engineering fundamentals as well as design and product technology.Essential SkillsBe enrolled in a US accredited degree program pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering (consideration given to manufacturing technology or electro-mechanical).Sophomore standing or above.Experience with 3D CAD.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Ability to read work orders, manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings.Additional Skills & QualificationsGPA of 3.0/4.0 (preferred).Experience with Autodesk Inventor (preferred).Work Environment

This company provides custom engineering or special building capabilities and are committed to developing the most energy-efficient pump to fulfill customer needs.

The intern will be working directly with the VP of Operations and Engineering and closely with one of the lead mechanical engineers. The engineering team includes 3 mechanical and 1 electrical engineer.

The company operates a tight-knit shop with about 35-45 employees, working to improve the process flow of the manufacturing floor. The plant floor has the distinct smell of metal and the sound of machines and power tools at work, creating a dynamic and engaging environment.

The internship can start immediately and will continue until August, with the possibility of part-time continuation into the fall depending on the candidate's school schedule.

The work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. Interns who work through the summer will receive 5 days of PTO, and those who continue for the year will receive up to 10 days of PTO and 6 standard holidays.

After 6 months, interns will gain access to Udemy courses in CAD, BOMs, ERP, and more.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00
