The Flooring Products division of Leggett & Platt Inc. is searching for an Engineering Intern to help support our Flooring business in Fort Worth, TX. Leggett & Platt Flooring Products is the largest manufacturer of carpet cushion and hard surface underlayment in the United States. We manufacture and distribute foam, rubber, and fiber-based flooring underlayment for residential and commercial use. Our flooring underlayment products provide support, cushioning, and noise reduction under virtually any finished flooring material in your home or business. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.
As an Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to observe production and identify root causes of disruptions. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by decreasing downtime and improving quality. The team you will be working with is collaborative and innovative, and values challenging work and diversity of thought. We will focus on providing experiential learning and professional development opportunities to develop your business acumen and professional skills and prepare you for future career endeavors. Professional networking opportunities will also be available through the corporate internship program and events. The internship will be for the Summer of 2025.
So, what will you be doing as an Engineering Intern?
Observe production processes and look for opportunities for improvements Identify and provide feedback on downtime and quality issues Identify, justify, and recommend cost saving projects Daily interaction with production personnel involving process related issues and potential improvementsTo be successful in this role, you'll need:
Junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering Desire to work in a manufacturing environment Familiarity with computer-based models and optimization techniques AutoCad skills Understanding of statistics Strong analytical skills Moderate skills in Excel Experience using measuring devices Capable of working on multiple projects at a time Strong oral and written communication skillsThings we consider a plus:
