We are looking for an Engineering Electronics Technician, who is safety conscious and willing to grow the business. This is a role where you will work in a TEAM environment, where safety comes first.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this job is to install, inspect, maintain, repair electrical equipment and sources throughout the plant and plant grounds. Incumbent must be safety conscious and be able to work in a team or alone. This position reports to the Senior Electrical Control Engineer and the Maintenance Manager. The incumbent must lead by example and ensure that safety comes before all else. The incumbent works to epitomize Union Tank Car’s Quality Policy and to meet internal and external customer expectations at all times by fully applying oneself to the task involved, preventing errors, and developing and implementing personal quality improvement projects. In addition, the incumbent is required to understand the Responsible Care Management System and actively participate in activities outlined therein. The incumbent will support the company and employee values as well as support the company’s initiatives.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Answer/address calls to troubleshoot /problem solve and deal with machine or building electrical issuesWork on any and all equipment/ machinery electrical issue inside and outside plantRead schematics, instruction, operation and repair manuals, and other associated documents related to electrical function of machineryUse technical instruments, measuring devices associated with electrical functionsMaintain electrical components of equipment including but not limited to motors, program circuits, air compressor motors, conveyor systems, welders, dust collectors, cranes, furnaces, QC x-ray machine, and time clocks.Install all types of electrical components from wires to switches, circuit boards and related to new equipment such as robotsMonitor safety devices, radio equipment / RF communication, fire detection systemOrder components, parts, and organize and maintain tool cabinets of back up components and partsSupport quality projects and company initiativesSKILLS/ SPECIFICATIONS:
Able to understand and work with software languages, and electronically generated ladder logic as they relate to CNC, PLC, and Windows based controlled equipmentAble to devise testing procedures and to construct the necessary testing equipment and or fixtures to troubleshoot, accurately diagnose and identify problems or defects of an electronic, electrical or related nature down to the component level.Able to understand and use digital video enhancement equipment, ex-ray image intensifiers, e-ray sources, close circuit television equipment, digital video recorders, personal computers and/or laptopPerforms complicated electronic precision alignment and calibration procedures on related manufacturing and facilities support equipmentDevelops and performs preventative maintenance techniques to diagnose problem areas and prevent premature failures on all manufacturing equipmentParticipate in continuous improvement activities and performance teams for suggesting methods to improve processes, efficiency, quality and serviceEDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in electrical engineering technology. Automation or related discipline and specialize training along with 5-7 years of automation maintenance experience and/or automation projects experience in a manufacturing environmentDISCLAIMER:
