Engineering Associate II

This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. Our portfolio combines our stored energy expertise with power systems, enclosures, and renewable energy products to deliver world-class solutions for diverse applications such as 5G, broadband, Internet of Things (IoT), data center, and solar power. Job Purpose

Builds prototype units and participates in integration testing and troubleshooting. Carries out and acceptance test procedures of batteries, battery chargers, energy systems and related products. Fabricates test fixtures for lab and Production testing. Performs installations and repairs of test equipment and components for Production when necessary. Performs RMA repairs. May supervise interns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  Conducts tests on new components, assembled rechargeable batteries, chargers and associated PCBs based on verbal and/or written instructions.  Maintains accurate records of test results and reports development to appropriate group.  Demonstrates excellent soldering and electrical assembly skills.   Fabricates prototype units of components assemblies and systems of new products.  Provides feedback to facilitate electrical troubleshooting and help establishing mechanical build procedures.  Performs troubleshooting and repair on some RMA products.  Operates machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area.  Follows established tool and instrument control procedures; reports any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her immediate supervisor.  Builds test fixtures for use in Engineering Lab and/or Production Floor.  Provides supervision to interns and/or Production staff to carry out required work.

Minimum Qualifications

2 year technical degree in electrical engineering, technology or related fields  5+ years' experience in testing processes Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment General Job Requirements Must be able to stand for long periods of time Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch. Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
