ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

This role is a Permanent position on a Dayshift 9 day fortnight based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities. 

 

In this role, you’ll help design, implement, and support process control systems that ensure smooth and efficient refinery operations. You’ll also contribute to the engineering, maintenance, and management of process reporting tools, control applications, user interfaces, and safety systems, making a real impact on the overall success of the process.

 

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

 

Collaborating with stakeholders to identify plant-wide priorities in our process control systems, aid in troubleshooting and resolving problems to improve overall safety, cost and production outcomes. Assists with Alarm Management and Rationalisation, including maintaining the alarm D&R database. Work with stakeholders to prioritise work fronts and complete process control system deliverables. Assisting in training operating personnel on effective system usage. Supporting variance analysis and identifying improvement opportunities. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Change Management procedures. Documenting and maintaining process control applications and procedures.  

 

 

ABOUT YOU 

 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

 

5 years’ experience is desirable in engineering, implementation and commissioning process control applications. Experience on the below control systems is highly regarded but not essential; Honeywell Process Control Systems – EPKS and TPS, Honeywell APC Forge, Schneider PLC Family – Proworks32 and Unity, Siemens PCS7, SEL RTAC and ABB MicroScada Good understanding of Instrumentation and Control communication networks and protocols Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to resolving system issues. Experience in stakeholder management and prioritising work fronts. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. 

 

Qualifications for this position are: 

 

Bachelor’s degree or relevant Australian certification in Process Control, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation, Process Engineering, or Production and Processing, as per local jurisdiction
