Job Description SummaryThe Gas Turbine Performance Testing Engineer will be executing highly technical services primarily on various gas turbine frames including Steam Turbine/Combined Cycle configurations depending on business needs. The successful execution of these global services will require that you adhere to internal processes while being open to the challenges that may arise. Our engineers are accountable for the quality our customers feel when purchasing our services. Areas of customer quality include accurate/timely documentation, appropriate/timely installation of instrumentation, accurate collection of field data, accurate inspections and recommendations, various site activities, and communications.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Review commercial guarantees, test expectations/requirements, and develop performance test proceduresPrepare, plan, and execute thermal performance tests on gas turbinesAnalyze data, calculate test results, diagnose, and evaluate testing issues and develop corrective actions as neededPrepare test reports for internal and external distributionProvide service recommendations for the restoration of gas turbine components to optimal conditionsCommunicate and coordinate with internal and external customers regarding audit/testing activities, schedules, technical issues, and test resultsSupport continued development and improvement of performance tools/processesIdentify and report in-field sales opportunitiesSupport new service development initiatives including IP to enable energy transitionThorough understanding of ASME PTC codes (PTC 22, PTC 6, PTC 46 and PTC 19) 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentMinimum of two years of gas turbine/steam turbine/combined cycle maintenance/testing/operations/design/thermal performance experienceWorking experience with MS Office and Excel based tools. Proficient in the use of computers and PC software

Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentUnderstanding of gas turbine/steam turbine/combined cycle thermodynamics, performance, and operationsHighly energized self-starter who can work independentlyFluent in the English language. Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey technical concepts to business leaders and customersProficient in the use of thermal modeling tools (GateCycle, Ebsilon, Thermoflow, and so on)Familiarity with the latest gas/steam turbine repair/maintenance techniquesExperience working with customersStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilitiesDesire for continual improvement and skills developmentDesire to bring forward creative new ideas to help shape future growth opportunities

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT

The position requires minimum 60% travel in few days/week intervals to destinations around the world. This is an estimate only - travel requirements might vary with peak outage seasons seeing higher percentages.
