Job Summary:
Responds promptly to maintenance/service requests obtained by direct communication with hospital staff and through maintenance software. Performs routine maintenance according to scheduled preventive maintenance program. Performs routine repairs in assigned area and/or coordinates with contractors for successful completion of repairs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. He or she may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
1. Respond to general maintenance calls according to priority.
2. Routine unit inspections. Create work order and complete repairs found during inspections.
3. Repair hospital beds and stretchers as needed.
4. Performs minor plumbing repairs.
5. Performs minor electrical repairs.
6. Cosmetic repairs as needed.
7. Performs duties with a minimum of supervision, exhibits innovation and good judgment as well as thorough knowledge of all aspects of maintenance duties.
8. Handles stressful verbal confrontation from customers in a professional manner.
9. Performs routine and preventive maintenance to prevent equipment failure.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
A. High school diploma or equivalent
B. Two years experience in maintenance preferred
C. Two years experience or adequate knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing
and equipment maintenance preferred
