Engineer II
General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

Under general supervision and with regular review, this position supports the engineering staff in the analysis, investigation and resolution of engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity. Assignments are normally accompanied by general instructions and suggestions, outlining possible approaches, sources or information, and potential problems to be encountered with work reviewed regularly for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Tasks involve the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.  The selected will document findings and implement solutions and communicate results to engineering staff. Contacts are primarily internal with infrequent inter-organization or customer contact on routine matters. May provide direction to design or technician staff.  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to learn aircraft and ground station subsystems and become an expert on how the systems work as a whole.Possess strong attention to detail to identify critical failure points within the system and ensure accurate reporting of reliability risks.Proficient with Microsoft excel and access. Maintain and improve Reliability Databases to assess reliability performance through system life cycle, provide trend analysis, develop and monitor reliability growth.Ability to develop Reliability and Maintainability Prediction and Allocation Models and Reliability Block Diagrams (RBDs).Conduct Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).Ability to impact design through clear and concise Reliability & Maintainability analysis and design requirements.Possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level to provide solutions to a range of complex problems.Have strong communication, computer, technical writing, presentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to gather information, analyze the information, and identify patterns and issues effectively.Support the Design Assurance process and other related design review milestones (i.e., PDR, CDR, etc.).Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team, and able to perform multiple and complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
