Job Description

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as an Engineer II in Software Quality Assurance. Contribute to innovative software solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.Design, develop, and implement automation scripts using open-source tools.Identify, record, document, and track bugs thoroughly.Perform detailed regression testing when bugs are resolved.Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.Liaise with internal teams to determine system requirements.Monitor debugging process results.Investigate causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.Track quality assurance metrics like defect densities and open defect counts.Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and strategies.Actively participate in scrum ceremonies, contributing to the identification of technical risks and alternate solutions.Provide mentorship regarding design testing strategy.Lead automation testing efforts, proactively seeking ways to continuously automate feature testing with measurable goals.

Candidate Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Engineering with 3+ years of experience, or Master’s in CS or Engineering with 2+ years of experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience in crafting and developing large-scale, highly available distributed software.Development experience with Python, JavaScript, Ajax, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS, and AngularJS.Mobile platform development experience is a plus.Familiarity with quality, code analysis, and configuration tools like SonarQube, Semmle, Veracode, and Ansible.Experience with public Cloud IoT services.Proficiency in using Jira and Confluence.
