A first-of-its-kind training facility in Dubai, theEmirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA)is located in Dubai South, Dubai World Central (DWC). With its unique facilities and resources, Emirates Flight Training Academy offers the opportunity to learn to fly in the most advanced flight training academy in the world.
Our fully-operational flight operations centre is dedicated to Emirates Flight Training Academy cadets only, making flight training part of everyday life at the Academy. This means you will have the opportunity to gain a complete operational experience in one holistic environment.
As Engineer Flight Simulator, you will provide engineering support and carry out maintenance requirements on flight training devices (Flight Simulators) maintenance activity will include complex fault rectification and updated to the overall performance and fidelity of devices, whilst operating within time constraints in a shift environment on equipment with a high capital value.
In this role, you will:
Work within an established procedural framework to ensure the safety and reliability of each training device(flight simulators), including management of device software and simulation fidelity. Work will be carried out to the highest safety standards, and in accordance with Regulatory Authority requirements remain adaptable in order to ensure that the most critical tasks which have a direct impact on crew training and safety are being prioritised.Ensure all routine scheduled maintenance tasks and defect rectification work is carried out in a timely manner to ensure that the operational requirements of each device are met.Use specialist and experiential knowledge and application of engineering principles when assessing, troubleshooting, and planning the resolution of complex faults. Such work will involve liaison with internal and external agencies such as simulator manufacturers. Faults will require an analytical approach to problem solving involving judgement and evaluation which will vary depending on circumstances and symptoms.Ensure deadlines for the completion of complex projects for improvements or upgrades being made to the training devices are met. Monitor the performance of external technical contractors involved in the accomplishment of a project.Liaise directly with the Training and Operations teams regarding the availability of simulator and other training devices, and training schedules, to maintain a high standard of service to all device users. This will include communication of information relating to device training limitations or unavailability due to technical reasons including predicted timescales for rectification, to allow users to plan or modify their plans accordingly.Identify improvements to the training devices, working practices and procedures, and training facilities when encountering areas requiring improvement, and where an operational or safety benefit may be obtained.Ensure the accomplishment of specialist aspects of the maintenance of flight training devices including management and periodic assessment of the Master Qualification Test Guide (MQTG), the proper maintenance of system software updates, software back-up systems and ongoing assessment of the visual system for performance and deterioration.Support Regulatory Authority (EASA, UAE GCAA, etc) activities during the initial and recurrent evaluation of the flight training devices.Provide monthly report of the training devices status and reliability to the Simulator Manager and discuss any potential risks which could impact the training devices reliability.A first-of-its-kind training facility in Dubai, theEmirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA)is located in Dubai South, Dubai World Central (DWC).
