About the role:

The Customer Quality Engineer is responsible for all North American Market related quality subjects in the ZF Suspension Technology (CT) Business Unit for a specified customer(s).

 

What you can look forward to as a Customer Quality Engineer:

Act as the key interface between customer and CT organization (Production Plants, Sales Organization, Engineering Organization) Communicate regularly with all levels of the customer quality organization to keep the customer view of CT quality performance up-to-date Collect all information about CT quality situation in the North America market using face-to-face meetings with the customer and using all specific customer portals  Collect all information about future customer quality expectations using face-to-face meetings with the customer and attending quality related customer information meetings Understand and follow all customer specific quality systems and procedures Coordinate and control closure of all customer related corrective and preventative quality subjects (e.g. product development issues, 0-ppm subjects, warranty subjects) in close cooperation with CT production plant quality, supplier quality and engineering organizations Support CT organizations to understand the details and importance of customer quality subjects Prepare transparent status information for all CT quality issues with all involved CT internal functions Lead presentation of CT quality issues to the customer and discussions with the customer (one voice to the customer) 8D´s feedback through customer portals. Coordinate necessary sorting activities on-site (Customer plants) in cooperation with the production plant quality organizations Attend all customer initiated regular and sporadic quality meetings and represent CT organization and position  Attend all customer audits in the production plants and the engineering locations Report the customer specific CT quality status regularly to CT Plant Quality Lead and Manager in a transparent and complete manner (standardized templates/ Customer BSC) Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies  Understand and comply with all ISO TS 16949 and the transition to IATF 16949 policies and procedures
 

Your profile as a Customer Quality Engineer:

Bachelor in Engineering  3-4 years of engineering experience.  Internships and coop included. Strong communication and coordination skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Knowledge of quality and/or internal audit processes, including knowledge of process/production control methods (i.e. APQP, PPAP, incoming inspection, etc.) Working knowledge of ISO TS 16949 standards and IATF 16949 Knowledge of process flow charts, FMEAs, and control plans Ability to present, influence and engage personnel and management at multiple levels within internal and external organizations Able to manage multiple activities in parallel English and Spanish language competency – both written and oral Ability/willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
