Your Key Responsibilities Assist in obtaining necessary application data and information for proposals and calculations. Evaluate design information, calculations, and test results to ensure components meet customer expectations. Submit bearing design proposals through written proposals, presentations, and discussions, and decide on the best format for each situation. Collaborate with product engineering to ensure cost-effective designs. Perform Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis to document and increase confidence in designs. Identify testing and inspection requirements, approve prototypes before shipment, and review and approve all samples. Maintain knowledge of Schaeffler manufacturing processes, standards, and procedures. Represent and promote Schaeffler during customer visits, exhibitions, and internal visits. Perform Returned Bearing Analyses on customer-tested or warranty return components, and provide technical support to sales/marketing and customer service. Strive for increased technical and industry knowledge through publications, discussions, professional organizations, and attending instructional events. Maintain project files and complete up-to-date Design Review forms, ensuring they are reviewed and approved according to department standards. Develop a working knowledge of test lab equipment and practices, and investigate new designs, concepts, or manufacturing processes to reduce cost and improve quality/performance. Provide technical support to sales/marketing and customer service, review and approve all samples, and manage multiple projects to completion using project management methods. Establish and maintain relationships with key engineering contacts at customers and field sales through frequent travel (targeted at 25%). Your Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Some engineering knowledge, experience and creativity such that by applying standard techniques and basic methods, detailed work assignments and routine projects can be handled Establish and maintain relationships with key engineering contacts at customers and field sales through frequent travel Travel target 25% External applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment visa or other sponsorship
