Overview This position is responsible for providing engineering support for the reliable operation of the LG&E/KU transmission system. This includes real-time engineering support, outage coordination, operations planning, transmission operations compliance and various other projects & tasks that support transmission operations. The position will be filled at the appropriate level based on the selected candidates education and experience. Responsibilities Provide real-time engineering support for the reliable operation of the transmission system. Provide on-call engineering support to transmission operations, as needed. Perform analysis using power system software such as PSS/E and TARA. Develop/maintain transmission system models. Develop/maintain automation to improve efficiency performing studies and other tasks. Perform analysis using state estimation and contingency analysis tools. Develop process/procedure documents and internal controls. Participate in relevant industry working groups. Develop/maintain metrics to support transmission operations. Support transmission operations in the development and maintenance of compliance documentation. Act as a liaison between transmission operations and other work groups to facilitate the flow of real-time information. Qualifications Education Requirements ABET Accredited Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology is required. Preferred Qualifications Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems from a business perspective. Good communication/interpersonal skills and works well in a team setting. Experience performing power flow analysis and utilizing state estimation/contingency analysis tools. NERC System Operator Certification. Coursework in Power Systems is preferred.
