The Department accomplishes its mission through programs and services that encourage high quality development, in addition to maintenance and revitalization of existing neighborhoods. The Department consists of the following divisions: Development, Planning, Code Enforcement, Building, Customer Service, Housing and Community Development, Economic Development, Infrastructure Planning, and Administration. The Engineer position is assigned to the Stormwater Plan Review Section within the Development Division. Essential Duties: + Reviewing development plans for compliance with applicable regulations and adherence to mandated guidelines pertaining specifically to stormwater + Communicating plan review matters with design professionals and internal staff + Providing technical assistance to other County staff, outside contractors, and the general public regarding engineering issues + Reviewing various reports, zoning conditions, recorded plats, GIS maps, and easements related to development projects + Researching, investigating, and evaluating complaints and inquiries received by the public or management regarding stormwater issues + Maintaining records associated with plan review + The Engineer II and III roles will perform multiple aspects of the review process requiring more experience and skill in the review, approval, and permitting of commercial and residential site development projects as well as supporting larger and more complex projects. + The Engineer III may supervise staff, assist in forming policies and procedures, and will act as back up to the Stormwater Plan Review Section Manager. Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.
