About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and managing the requirements for our audio systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, development, and testing, to ensure that our audio products meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and user experience. Because of the nature of the development efforts, the engineer will need to work on a variety of stages of development including requirements definition, concept design, prototyping, design reviews, validation and verification testing.
What You Will Do
Partner with global HEA Sales team to serve as technical POCs preparing and delivering technical presentations and demos to potential customers.Precisely capture customer failure report in pre aligned document with Project engineering and assist root cause analysis, containment plans and corrective actions and Change management.Customer product launch/marketing event & Harman trade shows technical support.Support sales teams in customer account reviews (Business reviews & Technical Roadmap Alignment Meetings), customer pitches and sell-in efforts with technical expertise in a way all stakeholders can understand.Collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, platform team, development engineers to gather and align on requirements for innovative audio systems.Drive reuse: lead the development of reusable internal requirements, identifying synergies and opportunities for design reuse.Define and own the process and tool chain for requirements development, management, and traceability.Work with platform team to create reusable demos to drive contract winsStrong project support with clear and sustained communication of executable project objectivesCollaborate with the program management, testing, quality, reliability and compliance teams to identify and resolve issues.Be the Voice of Customers to provide feedback to project and platform engineering teams on lesson learned and any improvements needed for future projects.
What You Need
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.Minimum 6 years of experience in end-to-end product development; consumer electronics preferred.Proven experience in requirements engineering, system design, and audio technology with proficiency in requirements management tools and software.Strong understanding of audio system components, including microphones, transducers, amplifiers, and digital signal processing (DSP) hardware and software; as well as audio testing and measurement techniques.Working knowledge of communication protocols (i.e. USB, Bluetooth, WiFi, I2S, SPDIF, I2C, SPI, UART), as well as audio codecs, streaming protocols, and audio file formatsExcellent analytical and data-driven problem-solving skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills, including customer-facing sales, as well as highly technical discussions.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
