Position Title: Engineer, Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Planning
Job Duties:
Analyze, model, and design engineering power system studies and project development plans for distributed energy resources (DERs), electricity-producing resources, and controllable loads that are connected to the facility within the local distribution system.Develop distribution system power flow model to study the interconnection of generation and storage using Synergi and PSCAD.Review and verify technical feasibility or soundness of proposed plans utilizing industry accepted techniques.Interface and collaborate with other engineering and planning departments and external teams to develop engineering solutions.Minimum Requirements:
Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or related occupation involving analysis and planning designs of distribution lines and substation facilities in electric power systems using modeling software such as PSCAD, Synergi or CYME.
May telecommute.
